Our last day was about getting loaded up and hitting the road. Abbie never met Mountain time so were were up by 5:22am - Abbie time. This helped us hit the road by 8:30am. We learned on the drive up that we should stop in Dumas, not Amarillo. The hotels in Dumas are brand new, cheaper and so much better. We had a long day getting out of the mountains and to the hotel, but it was a great night sleep. The kids were hilarious and had us laughing until way too late.

Actually, goodbye Colorado...hello Oklahoma. We went home a different way across and down through most of Colorado along the KS border. We then hit about 30 miles of the OK panhandle and then into Texas. It was a new route and quite pretty. Although for awhile we were surrounded by some storms and clouds that had me shaking...I don't think I've ever seen storm clouds that looked that ominous.
