Day Trip to Estes Park

Ever since finding out we were moving, Evan has begged to go to Estes Park. So this past Saturday we surprised them with a day trip there. I wish I had captured the joy on Evan's face when we told him what we were doing that day.

Evan loves to climb...

...and play mini golf.

Abbie mostly practiced her short game.

An excited group of amazing people.

Contrary to Abbie's face, we all love the big slide.

What a great day. We rode go karts and ate lunch in town and walked around some. The elk were out and beautiful. We finished our day with dinner in Denver. Definitely one of my best days as we were able to get away and spend the day together as a family with no distractions.

Promises....

I missed the double as I couldn't stop looking to get my camera. The rainbows get very bright here, I missed that too, may need to keep a camera in my pocket when it rains. Grateful for promises and provisions.

Landsharks

Evan had his first Cross Country Meet last Monday. The K-2nd graders run the 1/2 mile. He ran his in 5:59.15. He had a great time running around the lake with his friends.

The jets are coming in for their flyover. Sadly I lost them in the sun and this is my best picture. Not toworry though, they fly every home game and come right over our house (right around nap time) so I'll get another chance at a picture.

Why Not?

Thirty six holes of black light mini golf before school for $3....why not?

Soccer

Evan continues to love soccer. This year he is playing at the Y and is a Shark. He sure misses his Dragon buddies but is loving playing soccer. There is an indoor league here for the winter which he is excited to try.

Day Trip to Breckenridge

We took a day trip up to Breck to watch the Stage 5 finish of the Pro Cycling Tour Race. Evan and and I love to watch the Tour de France and many of the top riders and teams were part of this race. The day was beautiful, including a short mountain rain shower.

We were able to watch the race on the big screen while waiting for them to get to the finish line.

Rounding the last turn!

Here they come towards us.

We decided to ride the gondola up to the top of Breck and back

On the way home we went over the Cont'l Divide...still pinching myself - this was a day trip. Why? Because we live here!

On the way home we had a total blow out. Thankfully we felt something funny with the tire and had slowed down and were exiting when it finally blew. We called AAA but then some firemen saw us on the side of the ramp (not the safest place in the dark). They came and changed our tire for us. They were so amazingly nice.

Of course Abbie picked that exact moment to need to go to the bathroom. So we put the little "travel" potty in the front seat as the firemen just chuckled at her. She was quite proud of herself.

Moving in and Starting Kindergarten

Eating...praying our stuff comes soon.

Another view - deck outside with a view of the mountains...can't believe we live here!

Watching Tinkerbell on mommy's computer

Ms. Cami and Abbie helping check our stuff in.

Reunited with his bean bag - pure joy!

Moving van? Check. Off to first day of Kindergarten after 3 nights on a blow up mattress? Check.
