The Zoo

We went to the zoo today with some friends. It was a great day to go as it was virtually emtpy because kids are back in school. It literally felt like we had the place almost to ourselves. We had a great time looking at all the animals and learning about who they are and what they do. Then we ate our lunch in the children's area where we walked around and the kids got to pet a few animals as well. We look forward to many more days at the zoo...especially as it gets cooler. Abbie was a trooper on her first visit. I will say for the Zoo's sake I wish it had been more crowded. It's a good zoo, not a great zoo, but a good one. They've had some financial troubles more recently and hopefully with the new restructuring they won't lose any of the wonderful educational things they offer.

Looking at the Bald Eagle with his friend Holden. These Bald Eagles were injured in the Wild and can no longer fly so they live here in their refuge. We are sad to not be at the same preschool as Holden this year, I think they will miss each other at school.
