Trip to Iowa

We just got back from spending a wonderful five days up in Iowa. We flew into Minneapolis, drove to Jeff's hometown in NW Iowa for a few days and then drove to his sister's near Ames for the last few days. We had great weather and great time with family. Evan loved seeing everyone - especially his cousins.
One of Evan's favorite parts of flying is the bus ride from the parking lot to the airport.
Abbie's first flight. She did so great!

Evan did too...

Abbie meeting her great grandma for the first time.

Jeff's parents have apple trees and this is the first time we've been there in time to pick them.

Evan and Grandpa

Abbie didn't want to be left out.

Exploring in the woods behind Jeff's parents house.

Roasting marshmellows while waiting for the steaks to go on the fire...yes...the marshmellows came before dinner! And dinner was ribeyes grilled over this fire...they were awesome!

Then we made ice cream...yum...homemade ice cream...

Watching Annie play soccer.

At the Tailgate before the game.

These two were quite the pair all weekend! Evan with his cousin Annie.

Abbie enjoying the tailgate.

Jeff and his dad.

Evan and Annie on their way into the game.

Watching intensely.

Evan and his Aunt Cindy

Evan and dad at Evan's first ISU football game. He had such a great time and cheered quite hard...and ISU won the game!

Evan was given an ISU board book 2 years ago and he loves to look at it. So we took him and his book to campus to see it for real.

Cousin Alyssa and Abbie.

Evan and his cousin Colin

Cousins...they are all so fun! What a blessing to have such a great family.

Time for a silly picture!

Grandma and Abbie

Evan and his cousin Mary after a busy weekend...so cute...

On the way back to the Minneapolis Airport. This was one worn out little boy...but oh it was all so worth it!
Evan still sleeping...

Had to round out the trip the way we started...the picture on the bus on the way back to our car.

What a great series of picture from what seems like a fantastic trip! Love the apples - ahh, fall. OH, and you need to post Part II of the kitchen floor - I want to see the after shots!
