First Steps
We just returned from the Holck Family Reunion in Estes Park, CO so hopefully by tomorrow there will be some pictures, however I had to share some news. On Tuesday July 24th, Evan took his first steps in a hotel room in Estes Park with both Jeff and I present. It was really special that Jeff and I were both there. He took a few more throughout the week, but as is Evan fashion, fast is always better. Thus the walking will come slowly because crawling is a much faster way to get where he wants. He rarly stops moving. I have pegged him as a 15 month walker as that is what a few of our friend's boys who are larger than "normal" (like Evan)did. I know that once he gets it he will be off and running.

Mason Roundup 2007
Evan and I went to Mason to visit Granddaddy and Lela for Roundup. Evan's Aunt Robyn and cousins Paige, Brayden and Wendi were there as well as Paige's friend Emily. We had a great time watching the Parade with all the floats and old cars and Roundup Princesses going by. They also have something called "The Great American Jackass Race." I promise that is what it is called. They bascially have a donkey race around the square - it's a site to see for sure! Enjoy the pics!

In the first picture there is a man in the background in a pink jumpsuit. In Mason if you are in jail, you get to wear a pink jumpsuit. This man is a "Trustee" so he has some extra privileges.

13 1/2 Months
We were traveling when Evan turned 13 months, so I thought I'd drop a 1/2 in there to keep up. Evan is growing into a true little boy and away from a baby boy. He cruises everywhere and stands on his own for short periods of time - I think he will walk any day now.
Evan is also very chatty and into everything as you can tell by the first video. I keep trying to get his constant chatting on video but it's hard to keep him in one place or from heading straight for the camera. The world has opened up to him and he wants to absorb and participate in everything around him.
One thing he did about a week ago that I do not have a picture of (because it was 2:30 am!!)...He had eaten something that made him sick earlier that evening and went to be at 5:30pm - so he woke up at 2am hungry. I gave him some pedialyte and then kept him up for about 20 mins to make sure all was well. However, he was wired by then. Finally at 2:45 I put him in his pack n play (we were in Colorado) with a flashlight facing forward and 2 books. I looked over a minute later and he is sitting there paging through his book with the flashlight pointing on the book (he wasn't holding it). I wish I had my wits about me at 2:45 because it was the cutest thing to see, I had to wake Jeff up.
New things: Evan says "mama" and "daddy" I think he says "bye bye" and maybe a few other things that I am still trying to dicifer. He signs for "all done" and "more." We are working on "please," "thank you," "milk," "happy" and "bath" right now - we'll see how he catches on.
He loves to laugh and has started to pick his arms up to be tickled...see second video. He started this all on his own once we started "so big." He loves it. He will crawl up to you and pick his arms up and just smile and start to giggle - it's hilarious.
There are so many new things everyday. Evan is such a joy and blessing to us and we are so grateful for the gift he is to us.
