Family Time

Opening presents

Evan loved all the books he got and has been reading them ever since

We pulled out the foosball table for Evan's birthday party and he could not get enough of it. Here he is playing with Wendi. Playing to him means rolling the ball into the goal over and over.

Now with Paige

Spencer did not want to be left out

2 Years Old

Evan is now a 2 year old. He has changed so much over the last year. He talks almost nonstop now and has become very independent. He loves to be outside and rarely wants to play with his inside toys, he just wants to be outside running, playing basketball, baseball, with his tractors or in the sprinklers. He still loves to cuddle every now and then and can give the sweetest hugs which we treasure. He has begun to interact with other children more and more when they play and is working on learning to share. He has a great sense of humor and is really silly sometimes. He loves to make you laugh and will laugh with you when you do. He continues to love music, especially the guitar. He will ask for "music on please" when we are in the kitchen eating or in the car and will dance and even try to sing along.

He still has a love for books and will "read" on his own as well as continues to ask "read a book please" throughout the day. He knows his letters and can pick most of them out. He can count to 13, but usually he starts and says, "1, 2, 3...8, 9, 10" the 8, 9, 10 said really fast and then he says "yea!" It's quite funny. He is learning his shapes and colors and that is fun as they are everywhere we go so we can play little games now.

We are so blessed with such a sweet, playful boy and are excited to see what the next year brings.

Happy 2nd Birthday!!

This is a picture on Evan's birthday. Aunt Bobbie, Paige, Brayden and Wendi came in town for the weekend as school is now out for them. Here he is eating a morning snack with Wendi and Brayden on his new picnic table Uncle Peter and Aunt Bobbie (Robyn) bought him. It's a great table and so perfect. Thank you!!

Viking's Helmet

Another thing that came with Jeff's parents is Jeff's old Viking's Helmet which fits Evan quite well. He didn't want to take it off for breakfast.

More Pictures from Grandma And Grandpa's Visit

Reading with Grandma in his "new" cowboy hat. Jeff's parents brought some of Jeff's old toys with them when they came and Evan loved this hat so much he took a nap with it.

Running in the sprinklers

Playing with his "new" dump truck or "dirt truck" as Evan calls them

Evan's grandparents also brought this wooden barn down full of tractors and all sorts of farm equipment. This was a barn that Evan's Grandpa played with and although there was come question around this, it appears this was built by Evan's Great-Grandpa.

Playing with one of the tractors

We did some landscaping in the backyard while Jeff's parents were here. Dennis is working hard at laying new edgers.

Jeff and his mom repiling the wood pile after we layed some concrete tiles to keep it off the ground

The before of an unused area that later became a small patio, I will add an after picture soon

Below is how we entertained Evan during the project, the ball sprays water and here Evan is drinking some he collected in his bowl

Jake's

Evan and Jeff go to Jake's most Saturdays for lunch and "guy time." Today mom got to go because Grandma and Grandpa are in town. Evan is learning to order the "Number 10 please" which is a grilled cheese. He loves "guy time" and talks about Jake's throughout the week.

Jake's has the Sonic type ice so Evan gets a cup for water and a cup for ice. It has a lemon because Dad's has a lemon.

Memorial Day Weekend Grilling

Evan's Grandma and Grandpa came in from Iowa to visit this weekend. Jeff grilled us an amazing brisket, cajun corn and bacon wrapped, gouda cheese stuffed jalapenos (a GAR jr treat). What a great meal! Evan enjoyed a lot of outside time during the grilling.

Brisket "resting" and corn and jalapenos cooking with BBQ
sauce heating up.

Enjoying the corn. Evan was not so sure how to bite the corn but since he saw us all doing it he wanted to try it as well.

The Arboretum

We went to the Arboretum today with some friends. They usually have something fun going on for kids and today was no different. They had policemen out with their motorcycles talking to kids and letting them sit on their bikes. There was also a petting zoo and then we just went and had some Arboretum fun in the "mist."

Evan was not sure about the helmet as it was a little heavy

Brushing the goat

Playing in the mist - an Arboretum all time favorite

Last Day of School

We had our last day of school yesterday. The preschool had a field day and Evan's class had a chance to play in the bounce houses in the afternoon when they were done.
