Arboretum

Something I have grown to love about Dallas is its community feel. The Arboretum here has many events and activities throughout the year and it's all very family friendly. Yesterday we went with some friends to the Pumpkin Patch. For the month of October they have a huge pumpkin patch that kids can play in as well as a maze made with hay bales, a petting zoo and concerts. Evan had a great time in the maze and climbing on the hay and trying to pick up all the pumpkins - I really think he may be a future "Strong Man" competitor. He had fun dancing at the concert too.
I had a hard time getting him to "pose" for a picture as being stationary is not his gift, so here is what we ended up with. I am sure we will go back soon.
Corn!
Maybe I can pick this one up...

Hmmm....that didn't work, maybe one of these...

Finally found one I can carry around...

And of course throw!

Okoboji shirt!

Reaching for his basketball, Evan shows off his cool new shirt from Uncle Chris and Aunt Kathy.

Playdate with friends...

Evan got to visit his friend Addison in Houston. They did quite well "sharing" toys although there were a few "learning experiences" on the way. They "snuck" off into Addison's room and all we heard was Addison laughing, we aren't sure what was going on, but we caught them taking her shelf apart. Apparently Addison did not know how to do this until Evan showed her...sorry! We had a great time visiting our Houston friends and hope to play again soon.

2 Points!

A Happy Boy

We have decided that right now Evan is a Jeff with my dad's smile and my grandad's chin. What a great combination! Isn't he handsome!!

Playing at the Park

Evan loves to go to the park in the evenings after dinner. He loves to slide and run around with his football. These pictures were taken just before he slipped on the steps up the slide, hit his chin and his bottom teeth went into the roof of his mouth - that's what happens without back teeth to stop them. We had a few tears and blood but the chin and teeth were fine. He recovered very well - I was impressed.

Where's Cy??

Future Slideshow??

ROAR!

Cowboy Evan!

Evan loves his cowboy boots. I bought them used at a cute store in Colorado and they are about 1.5 sizes too big - this does not deter him at all! If he finds them he wants to wear them.

Learning to Eat & Drink Like a Big Boy

Evan gets to practice with silverware and cups as we navigate learning how to eat like a "big boy." As you can see he will hold a fork and yet still eat with his hands and the water...well, I think his shirt drinks more than he does, but he'll get there.
